Vatsala Mehra (Known as the Ghazal Queen, born on 7 May ) is an IndianGhazalsinger who resides in Washington, D.C[1]. She was honoured by the Indian government for her contributions to Indian musical tradition, and she has since performed to acclaim all around the world.

Early Life And Background.
Vatsala Mehra was born on 7 May to a Hindu family.
She grew up in Mumbai and Delhi alongside her seven siblings. Her biological father, Devendra Kapoor was a businessman and her biological mother, Veenai Kapoor loved music and so introduced Vatsala to music.[3]
Vatsala began her formal training under Pandit Waslekar, Chotte Iqbal, and Ustad Momin Khan Saab of Lucknow Gharana.
She then got married at the young age of eighteen years and moved to The United States of America.

Vatsala traveled to India to release her first album, Guftgu[5][6], in after she had settled down in The United States of America. Before then, she had been going to India to record songs and perform live shows.
Her first release was followed by Shamakhana II, Khazana I, and Khazana II[7] in and respectively; Nigahen, Hasrat, followed by Nasheeli Peshkash and two pop albums, Ole Ole and Jhoom Jhoom. It didn't take long for 'Ole Ole' to be rated among her top ten records. The Nigahen video was again released by Atlantic Video, while other ghazal releases include Gubar, Meri Jaan, Live at the Kennedy Center, Shokhiyan, and Laleiyan Jogee Naal in the year [8]
