Vatsala Mehra (Known as the Ghazal Queen, born on 7 May ) is an IndianGhazalsinger who resides in Washington, D.C^[1]. She was honoured by the Indian government for her contributions to Indian musical tradition, and she has since performed to acclaim all around the world.

Vatsala Mehra was born on 7 May to a Hindu family.

She grew up in Mumbai and Delhi alongside her seven siblings. Her biological father, Devendra Kapoor was a businessman and her biological mother, Veenai Kapoor loved music and so introduced Vatsala to music.^[3]

Vatsala began her formal training under Pandit Waslekar, Chotte Iqbal, and Ustad Momin Khan Saab of Lucknow Gharana.

She then got married at the young age of eighteen years and moved to The United States of America.
